Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry

Hank – On the way back to Anchorage we stopped by the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in Wasilla. (We didn’t see Sarah Palin and we couldn’t see Russia either.)  The museum building houses a lot of interesting artifacts: tools, vehicles, early snowmobiles, and more. Outside they have trains, tractors, vehicles, aircraft, and boats. Unfortunately, everything outside is being severely punished by the weather. They sure could use some large buildings to protect them.

Kathy – This was a pretty cool place with lots of amazing artifacts and transportation vehicles. It looks like they are still working on improving this museum. Hopefully in the near future they will have more coverings for the things outside to protect them from the harsh Alaskan winter weather. None the less, it was a good place to visit. 😊

    1. Hey, Matt! Last year we made some friends in Mason City, Iowa and hung out with them for a couple of days. They have a team that rides RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Ride Across Iowa) every year and invited us to ride with them. We are taking them up on their offer. We leave Wednesday to drive there. The ride is July 21-27. After that we drive to Livingston, Montana to visit some other new friends we made last year. Then we come home and rest. 🙂 We’re saving Hawaii for when the weather here gets cold. Our best to you and Loretta.

      Hank
