Hank – We sat out the day. We have about 120 miles to Memphis. Tomorrow the wind will be from the north, giving us a nice push. So we can do 60-65 miles tomorrow and end up in Osceola, Arkansas and then follow that with another 60-mile day to Memphis. That sounded more fun than riding against 10-20 mph south winds all day today. The forecasted rain didn’t show, which was okay with us.
So we took it easy today. We walked to Katy’s Diner for a late breakfast and went through parts of town we haven’t seen yet. Melinda at the diner asked us right away, “Where are your bikes?” We explained we took a rest day and were on foot. The diner is full of odd and unique decorations. We noticed a couple more today. And there’s a paddle with five wooden chickens on it, each with a string the connects to a ball underneath the paddle. Move the ball around and the chickens peck at the “food” on the paddle. It kept me entertained for a few minutes.
You can see why.
Kathy – Enjoyed a relaxing down day. Ready to ride in the morning. πππ
Be safe out there you two. π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ€
