Hank – We spent the last couple of days with my cousin Greg, his wife Kathleen, and children Liam and Hope. Rounding out the family is Bo, one of the oldest pit bulls I’ve ever seen. He’s a gentle soul, strong as an ox, and he sadly can’t hear a thing.
We had a great visit with everyone. We hiked in the local canyons, helped reshelve and checkout books during library time at Hope’s school, played chess with Liam, and watched Hope do fantastic at her first timed test during junior lifeguard class.
Greg and Kathleen spoiled us so much and they are wonderful people. It was hard to leave them.
Kathy – We traveled to Rancho Palos Verdes, California (not too far from Los Angeles) to see cousins Greg and Kathleen and their two beautiful children Liam and Hope.
We had such a wonderful time seeing these amazing people. Kathleen is a part-time ICU nurse, school volunteer and an engaged and loving mom. Greg’s work has something to do with chemistry and explosives. ⚡️💣💥 No worries what he does is all legal. He works from home most of the time which allows him to also be present in their two children’s lives. They have two pretty special children too. Liam is 13 years old and Hope is 11 years old. They are very normal kids that enjoy school, different sports, junk foods, and a little screen time now and then. They are also both very responsible, smart, polite, athletic and kind. Greg and Kathleen are doing an exceptional job raising these two beautiful children.
We spent some of our time going on walks, viewing the ocean, and having lunch at a spectacular restaurant near where they were married. We also spent time volunteering at Hope’s school and watching Hope’s swimming lessons. We played with Bo their super sweet deaf dog too.
We enjoyed dinner with Kathleen’s sister Ann Marie and her highly driven college freshman daughter Gigi. These two beautiful ladies are obviously very intelligent, kind and successful with all they do. We met Larry and Zac too, great people as well who co-parent Liam and Hope. It was a good time for all as we got to know each other better over dinner.
Our time with Greg and Kathleen went by much too fast. They were superb hosts and took care of our every need. They showed us around town, provided all meals, and even gave up their bedroom and private bath for us. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. These two are really incredible people. I am so thankful not only for all their amazing hospitality but also for our time together.
We had many talks about life, current events, kids, and future plans. With it all came much laughter as well. This really made our time with them super special. How lucky we are to have time with such fantastic people! Sad to leave them, but happy for the time we had together. 💗
