We’re taking a couple of days off. Tomorrow we’ll be camping with some old family friends through Wednesday at a campground near Yankton. On Thursday morning we return the rental car, pick up the bikes and get back on the road.
Jack Heckles, who so kindly invited us to stay at his house in Livingston, MT, recommended that we see the National Music Museum in Vermillion, SD if we get the chance. We did and it was great. It made me long for my cigar box guitars and gave me some ideas for making a couple more. Enjoy!
Hi Kathy and Hank, I have been following your Facebook posts and blogs from time to time. What an adventure you guys are having, that looks so awesome. I’m really happy to see you guys are enjoying your retirement with such great adventure. Kudos to you both that’s the Way to live life. Congratulations on your anniversary too. What a sweet story. I think I’ve heard it before but I don’t get tired of hearing it.

Happy 4th of July Hank and Kathy, With the Knights of Columbus I helped put together a 40 foot tractor trailer bed Float in our Bangor Maine Parade. No marching for us this year as the temp was 94-98F, so we had about 20 men and woman on the float with a keyboarder, singing patriotic songs. Had a great time seeing all the faces along the parade route, and sharing our voices and thankfulness for our our freedoms. After wards we took the float apart and stored everything till next year. Barb and I shared Isaac’s family the remainder of the day until about 10:30pm at their lake camp, loads of fun water skiing and tubing, BBQ, birthday cake and ice cream. Played cribbage, corn hole toss, and lots of conversations. Was a great day!
Retirement is wonderful, as my cousin explained to me, Everyday is a Saturday. Chores every day!!!!
Isaac’s wife Kristen, is due to have a baby tomorrow, Friday July 6th, she is a Surrogated Mom, what giving from one individual to another family. Beautiful gift of life to all, it supposed to be a girl, we’ll see……….Remember Isaac was to be a girl……

Wow, it is great to hear about your outstanding 4th of July! Happy to hear you are all doing so well and enjoying life. Hoping all went well with Kristen and the baby’s birth. She is truly and amazing gal to help with the gift of life for another couple. I wish her, the baby, and the new parents all the best.
Right now it is looking like we may be in Maine the end of August. We are really looking forward to seeing you all and spending long hours catching up.
